Doctor Young Enough To Be
My Son
"How old are you, Doc?," study
asks
PORTLAND, OR--A double-blinded randomized prospective
study has found "conclusively" that Dr. Allan Nguyen, an internist
in Portland, OR, is young enough to be my son.

Dr. Paul Westmark, the study chief, made the announcement
early Monday morning, adding emphatically that "what I'd really like
to know is, how old is that guy?"
The Portland medical community has long suspected
that Dr. Nguyen was young enough to be my son, say observers.
"Yeah, he's a good doc," said patient
Mark Heidelman, a plumber with hypertension and a borderline high cholesterol
level.
"But I'll be damned if he ain't young enough
to be my son!," he grinned, echoing the opinions of a majority of
Nguyen's patient panel.
The year-long investigation spearheaded by Westmark
showed that Dr. Nguyen was in fact young enough to be my son, with a p
value of <.005 - a statistically significant finding.
If funding permits, Westmark plans a cohort study
in mid-2001 to evaluate exactly how long Nguyen has been a doctor.
